At just three years old, J.R. was adopted from foster care. By eight, he had been diagnosed with PTSD, beginning years of emotional turmoil, ER visits, and repeated hospitalizations. As his sole caregiver, I felt the fear, exhaustion, and isolation that countless families experience when a child is in mental health crisis.
While children receive medical attention, caregivers are often left to navigate heartbreak, complex systems, and burnout alone. That painful truth inspired me to found Trauma Youth Support Services (TYSS) — a nonprofit created to ensure no caregiver or child faces these challenges without hope, help, and community.
Your support makes that mission possible. Every donation helps provide caregivers with essential resources, self-care tools, and a compassionate network that fosters healing and resilience. Together, we can bring comfort to families in crisis and help them rediscover strength in the face of trauma.
